Titus ML1
The Titus ML1 Full Suspension mountain bike provides a very nimble ride with precision steering. The 5 inch front travel allows you to travel downhill faster, yet it still climbs very well even while seated.
The Titus ML1 is a good, balanced weight, light enough to climb easily but heavy enough that it stays on the ground securely while you are climbing. Some riders have expressed concern that at 30 pounds, it feels a little bit heavy when loading into your car, but most agree that it does not feel heavy at all while riding.
The ML1s suspension provides a smooth, solid ride, handling any bumps easily. It also provides a high enough clearance to let you easily travel over logs or rocks. Its hydro-formed alloy down-tube was designed to give you maximum power transfer, offering the best ratio for stiffness to weight, and it is incredibly durable.
With its four over-sized bearings on the main pivot, the ML1 provides a low-maintenance ride with precise rear-end tracking. Another advantage is that the rear suspension is entirely consumer serviceable, so if you have the right tools and knowledge, you can eliminate some of the typical trips to your mechanic, and the associated costs.
With the ML1, Titus geometry provides stability at high speeds, while maintaining razor-sharp handling. Its aluminum frame, adjustable front and rear suspensions, and short chain stays, the ML1 can handle most technical climbs, and still take you down the steepest descents. The Horst-Link rear end enhances your pedaling, while the Mavic CrossRide wheels and SRAM/Shimano drive train help you move fast. The Avid Juicy disc brakes and Kendra tires give you excellent braking control even at high speeds.
The ML1 is very comparable to the Titus MotoLite, with the main difference being that it is fully aluminum while the MotoLites rear triangle is made of carbon. The ML-1 has wider chain stays and uses a heavier aluminum, which should make them stiffer. They also have the same geometry, and both bikes are made in the United States. However, the ML1 is much less expensive, and overall, the Titus ML1 full suspension mountain bike is a very good bike for the money, averaging between $2,000 and $2,500. T
This bike won the "Best Trail Bike" editors choice award from Bicycling Magazine in 2007, so you know Titus has done something right!
